Art, and the stories that it has allowed me to bring to life, has drastically shaped the lens in which I see the world through.

Since I was a little girl, the term “creative” has been my primary descriptor. There was, within my heart, this innate need to capture the world around me. To participate in it. Charcoals, graphite, oil paints and colored pencils. I learned them. I used them. I created with them.

In college I bought a film video camera on a whim. It shipped all the way from Kazakhstan, and everyone was convinced I’d been scammed. I made it a point not to tell my mom until it had arrived.

Learning film was like learning a new language. What was Aperture? What was a Stop and why was it important that I “push” the film and not “pull” it? I’d take notes, then call my dad to break down the process.

Neither of us fully understood what I was saying. It didn’t matter. What mattered was that first roll of film, the sound as it rolled through the shutter, the hesitant hope behind every shot. It took weeks to get the results back, but it didn’t matter — I’d fallen in love.

In all of this, my faith as a Christian is the heart behind all that I pursue. It has remained the primary motivator in my love for the arts and for others, and I feel immensely blessed to continue seeking these passions through videography.

It is such a gift to capture love behind the lens. In every special moment, like the way the candles flicker during toasts, the smile of a dear relative, the second right before walking own the aisle, there is such a beauty, such an art. It is my pleasure to stitch them together into a story, a capsule, a canvas, that displays the memories you’ll forever cherish.
